Method for Joining Information and Adapting Content from Gamified Systems and Serious Games in Organizations

Abstract

In some work fields, the number of various knowledge and skills one must master can be tremendous. Therefore, we decided to make work and training more rewarding and motivating. The skills and knowledge mustered by the employees in both those situations are the same, but the systems responsible for the tracking and the adaptation of the content are not. Therefore, our contribution is twofold. First, a system that centralizes the learner’s game, learning and professional profiles and provides the other systems connected to it with the necessary information to adapt their content thanks to various modules. Secondly, a generic model that should be respected by any system connecting to our first element. We argue that it is necessary to use both our method and model to be able to fully exploit the information provided by our system. We tested our model and method on three different implementations but could not measure the impact of said implementations on our learners.
