Market Sales Forecasting Related to the Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry

Abstract

Based on the multiple linear regression model, this paper analyzes and compares the effects of the sales forecasting models SMT and CIT on the relevant markets of the US semiconductor manufacturing industry. To be specific, the data is used from the ABCtronics case to conduct a multiple regression analysis on the status of the semiconductor manufacturing industry. According to the results of multiple regression analysis, the proposed model of SMT interns has strong explanatory power than the model previously used at ABCtronics. These results shed light on sales prediction in terms of different relevant variables, which can be implemented to different industries.
