Abstract

The following paper presents an SCC architecture that allows to take over the remote control of one or more ships from the shore side, especially in critical situations, in order to present a concrete solution of a remote control center as proposed in the MASS levels for autonomous navigation. Particular attention was paid to the technical and functional components and requirements specified by the regulations, and the practicability based on decision-making and action execution was investigated. In particular, the three levels of situational awareness were taken into account and the remote control center was finally implemented as a prototype. For the evaluation, the practicability based on the RTT was assessed and the completeness based on the design specifications of common INS was examined.
